The United States has the largest TikTok audience in the world – over 131 million users are engaging with the app, especially Millennials and Gen Z’ers (Statista). Consumer interest in short-form video content (due to shorter attention span) escalated significantly during the pandemic, and that preference is clearly here to stay. In Q4 2021 alone, global user spending on the app was 824m USD, making TikTok a wise place for brands and businesses to invest their time and resources. Here are ten (pretty simple) ways you can grow your TikTok so you can leverage the app to earn revenue!

  1. Post at Peak Times of the Day

Imagine working extra hard to create an amazing TikTok, only to post it at a time when your target audience isn’t even engaging with the app (yikes). Posting at peak times is essential if you want your content to get seen, shared, and engaged with.

According to Influencer Marketing Hub, the best times to post on TikTok right now are as follows:

  • Monday: 6 AM, 10 AM, 10 PM
  • Tuesday: 2 AM, 4 AM, 9 AM
  • Wednesday: 7 AM, 8 AM, 11 PM
  • Thursday: 9 AM, 12 AM, 7 PM
  • Friday: 5 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM
  • Saturday: 11 AM, 7 PM, 8 PM
  • Sunday: 7 AM, 8 AM, 4 PM
  1. Post *Several* Times a Day

The more you post, the greater your chance of growing your following by attracting different audiences, so we recommend posting at least four times a day. But don’t just post the same kind of video over and over – ensure there’s some variety in your content to keep your audience interested and to diversify your reach.

  1. Hop on TikTok Trends (Quickly!)

You can check out the For You page to discover what’s trending. Capitalizing on trends by bringing your personality to it will make you stand out even more and improve the likelihood of you going viral and further expanding your brand’s visibility.

  1. Don’t Be Afraid to Go LIVE

Even though live video is proven to boost engagement, a lot of creators still shy away from doing so because you can’t control every variable. You never know what people are going to ask, if there’s going to be a troll, or if something unexpected happens. But that’s the beauty of it! Users love knowing that they’re a part of something happening in real time. Going live is a vulnerable experience but don’t be afraid to embrace it!

  1. Duet and Stitch w/ Viral TikTok Videos

The duet feature allows you to go side by side with popular TikToks. Showing your reaction to these videos is a fun way to showcase your personality and utilize the momentum of already-popular videos to generate some attention to your content.

Creating stitchable content means taking a small piece of another video/sound and adding your own content, usually in the form of a response, to the end. For example, “Show me you’re a teacher without saying you’re a teacher.” Stitchable content is very popular so making these videos is a smart, fun way to boost views.

  1. Don’t Just Entertain – Educate!

TikTok users love content that is both entertaining and educational. We all love to be entertained but hey, you’re here to grow your brand and sell your products/services, right?! So tell us about them in a fun, interactive way!

  1. Incorporate Trending and Relevant Hashtags

Using both brand-specific and trending hashtags will help you reach more diverse audiences and further up your opportunities to increase your following. Use hashtags that have between 300,000 to a million views, not hashtags that have billions of views, so that your content doesn’t get lost in the sauce.

  1. Cross-Promote on Other Social Media

Promoting your videos on other platforms like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and/or Pinterest is integral to your marketing strategy. You should position yourself wherever your core audience hangs out the most.

  1. Join and Make Your Own Challenges

We all love a good TikTok challenge – in fact, we have dance challenges to thank for the reason the platform took off! Now there are challenges for every industry, and creating your own challenge is also a great way to showcase your skills and promote community.

  1. Interact with Other Creators

As hinted throughout this blog post, growing your TikTok is really all about building community. So you have to get comfortable with doing the “in the trenches” work of interacting with other TikTokers and your followers to help foster an environment where people will want to engage with you. (Nope, we don’t believe in buying followers over here!) It will take time. But by implementing multiple strategies at once, you’ll get there a little faster.

As a brand or creator, focusing on providing value and quality content will bring the followers.

At Brand-It Strategies, we have social media strategists in place and ready to take the load of building your social media presence off your plate so that you can focus on creating and growing your business!
